Construction is about more than homes, it’s about the people who live in them.
Last month, one of our fantastic Resident Liaison Officers, Wendy, demonstrated exactly what it means to put residents first.
Having built a strong relationship with one of our residents, Wendy noticed she hadn’t seen her for a while. Trusting her instincts, she decided to check in.
When the resident eventually answered the door, Wendy immediately realised something wasn’t right. As the resident turned to walk away, she suddenly collapsed. Wendy acted without hesitation, helping her safely onto her bed before calling an ambulance.
We were later informed that if Wendy hadn’t taken the time to check on her that day, the outcome could have been very different.
Thankfully, the resident made a recovery and is now back home. But Wendy’s support didn’t stop there. She made sure the resident had food, essential supplies and everything she needed following her discharge from the hospital.
The resident, who now greets Wendy with a smile every day, remains incredibly grateful for her kindness, compassion and quick thinking.
Stories like this remind us that construction isn’t just about repairing and improving buildings. It’s about caring for the people who call those buildings home.
We’re incredibly proud to have colleagues like Wendy, who go above and beyond every single day to make a genuine difference in our communities.
